As soon as we started publishing Nootropics articles, readers started flooding us with questions. What about Ginseng? What about Bacopa Monnieri? One of the most common questions comes when someone wants us to review a supplement they’re thinking of purchasing. We’re always happy to help, and that’s how we came across Brain Health 8.
Previously known by the trade name Ageless Brain, the Nootropic from Organixx is now called Brain Health 8, signifying its commitment to using only 8 organic ingredients. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s see how well these ingredients hold up to scientific inquiry.
Organixx Brain Health 8
Who is Organixx?
Organixx is a full line of supplements and other nutrition support products that all from certified organic, food-based sources. The good news with this sort of company is that you are generally getting more bioavailable nutrients, as any nutritionist will tell you. The bad news is that for some cutting edge ingredients there is a base level of laboratory influence that Organixx foregoes.

Top Alternatives
At the GGW we know that not every body–or mind–reacts the same to every supplement. That’s why we’re dedicated to the best science, and the best alternative products for people looking to be their best selves.
1. Feedamind
Our top Editor’s Pick for Nootropics, Feedamind omits nothing. Their formula has all of the ingredients that the cutting edge of science can recommend, and in the proper doses, to boot. On top of that, with Feedamind you could see results in as little as a few days.
2. Noocube
An industry staple in the Nootropics field, Noocube continues to keep the standard high. Perfect for anyone new to Nootropics, it’s perfect for multi-tasking, people who struggle with attention span on repetitive tasks, and anyone looking for an edge.
3. Vyvamind
One thing I’ve always respected about Vyvamind, they don’t market to everyone. Their Nootropic is for fast-paced, high-demand performers who need to act quick and think even quicker.
Benefits of Brain Health 8 (Ageless Brain)
All Organic
If Organic sourcing is the most important consideration for you, then Brain Health 8 is your winner. Not only do they commit to finding all their ingredients from actual plant sources, they even make sure those plants themselves are certified organic. That being said, it’s difficult to track down their organic certifications. And this commitment comes at a cost–gone are proven ingredients like Tyrosine and Theanine found in Feedamind.
Simplified Formula
Like Vyvamind, Brain Health 8 has knuckled down on a stripped down formula. Unlike the dozen or so ingredients found in other products, like the name implies, you’re only getting 8 with Organixx’s Nootropic. Again, our only criticism of this approach is that it narrows the range of benefits you might get from it, unlike products like Noocube which can literally do it all.
No Added Caffeine
Many people are turning away from caffeine, and I totally get it. Not only can it cause jitters, anxiety, and increased heart rate, but caffeine has pervaded nearly every supplement market out there. The only caffeine we could find in this formula is from the pure organic cacao bean. According to Organixx, it pencils out to less than a mg of caffeine per serving.
Ingredients and Evidence
Cat’s Claw
Anyone who’s studied medicine knows that the human body can really self-sabotage itself. Case in point, proteins in the brain known by the Greek letter they resemble-tau. Tau proteins protect neurons, but later in life they can tangle up into “brain plaque.” Research has shown, with visual evidence, that Cat’s Claw can detangle these proteins for better cognitive performance.
Pau d’Arco
Sometimes fancy words can hide a potential health risk. Known in Brazil as Pau d’Arco, the tree Tabebuia avellanedae has shown both antiedematogenic (reduces edema, a specific kind of swelling) and antinociceptive (fights off toxins) effects. The bad news is that it may prevent much needed blood clotting. On top of all that, I can’t find solid Nootropic benefits of the plant.
Bacopa Monnieri
It’s always good to have a blend of evidence for a supplement. Not only do we like to see brain scans, for instance, but can we see evidence of people performing better? With Bacopa Monnieri we can. No wonder we see it in Feedamind, Noocube, and here in Brain Health 8.
Dragon’s Blood Resin
As absolutely awesome as the name sounds, the tree Dracaena cinnabari from the Arabian Peninsula looks even cooler. Trouble is, that may be the end of it. Some very limited research indicates it may improve blood flow, which by theory we could extend to brain-blood flow. But there’s no evidence it improves cognitive function.
Cinnamon
Here we’re back to not only solid scientific ground, but quite impressive evidence. Not only has research indicated that Cinnamon can improve brain processing, but that most studies of Cinnamon have reached that conclusion. The leading areas of increase are New Learning and Memory, great for anyone starting a new job or still in school.
Camu Camu Powder
The Camu Camu fruit has been used extensively for a multitude of health benefits in traditional medicine, and modern science has traced many of these effects to the high Vitamin C content in Camu Camu juice. To date, though, I can’t find solid research into its powdered forms, or its use in Nootropics applications.
Cacao Powder
There are several benefits to Cacao powder, especially organic, unprocessed Cacao as found here. Key to these benefits is an alkaloid called Theobromine. Extensive research has shown it can increase cognitive test results, and other studies have even shown the neural pathway growth it can induce.
Guayusa Extract
Most of the scientific evidence for Guayusa is actually as a caffeine source. And caffeine is an excellent mental aid, providing greater blood flow above the shoulders, and even providing a jolt of energy. Additionally, one source I found indicates that Caffeine from Guayusa may be more beneficial than from coffee.

Who is Organixx For?
Outside of the obvious answer–anyone looking for cognitive performance – I should point out that Organixx Braith Health 8 is primarily for people looking for Organic Supplements. I may even go so far as to say that it’s for people who think organic is as important as results.
That’s not because Brain Health 8 definitely won’t work, but because they seem to have put more focus into sourcing organic herbal remedies from traditional medicine than into finding good scientifically proven ingredients.
Final Verdict
Our final word on Organixx is that it’s a great alternative for anyone who wants to commit themselves to more ethically sourced supplements. It’s rare to find a Nootropic with so many herbal ingredients, let alone a formula solely based on that concept. For that reason alone, I would keep them in mind when shopping around. But for a purely results-oriented purchase you should look elsewhere.
