Best Nootropics for Motivation in 2024

Motivation is the driving force that propels people toward success. But let’s face it, finding enough motivation for your work, studies, or other day-to-day tasks can be quite challenging, especially when you’re also mentally exhausted.

This is where you think outside the box and look into cognitive-enhancing nootropic supplements.

These nootropics can boost your mood, focus, and cognitive performance — all of which have a direct correlation with your motivation levels. The only hurdle standing between you and increased initiative is choosing a nootropic that fits your needs.

But, if you’re running low on motivation, evaluating dozens of supplements is easier said than done. So, I did that hard part for you.

1. Feedamind

Feedamind is a relatively new option on the market. But, it has already become a part of my primary nootropic recommendations. Its focus on both cognitive performance and the physical health of your brain sets it apart from most other nootropics I’ve reviewed.

However, the aspect of this supplement that drew my attention the most is its inclusion of Chocamine, and here’s why.

Chocamine is a branded form of cocoa extract that can increase blood flow to your brain — boosting the amount of oxygen & nutrients your brain receives. This improves your focus & mental energy, both of which are key benefits of high motivation.

That said, a significant motivating-changing factor is your mood, which is why Feedamind also includes several B Vitamins such as B1, B6, B7, and B12.

These Vitamins play crucial roles in the synthesis of neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin. These neurotransmitters are also called the “happy hormones” because they improve your mood as a whole and make you feel more motivated. Same goes for Feedamind’s L-Tyrosine content as it also improves your motivation by increasing dopamine production.

Though, motivation isn’t effective if you’re low on energy which is why Feedamind’s addition of Dynamine is such a good idea. It boosts your mental energy and cognitive performance, so you can complete the tasks at hand as efficiently as possible.

2. Noocube

Noocube takes the #2 spot on my list because its formula is designed to enhance almost every aspect of your cognition.

Noocube improves your mood by increasing the production of the “happy hormone” called dopamine, which — in turn — makes you feel more motivated. Not only that, but it also offers several other cognitive benefits.

For example, taking two capsules of Noocube daily can help you stay focused on a task without getting distracted. This is because its L-Theanine content boosts your alertness, which also has the side benefit of increasing your reaction time.

On the other hand, the Alpha-GPC in Noocube boosts the secretion of acetylcholine; a neurotransmitter that improves your ability to memorize and recall information.

Despite this plethora of benefits, the per-month price of Noocube is still less than all of the other options on this list. What’s more, is that this lower price doesn’t come at the cost of supplement quality. Noocube is created with top-tier ingredients in FDA-registered facilities to ensure consistency.

Cons

  • Its Gelatin capsules make it unsuitable for vegans or vegetarians.

3. Vyvamind

Vyvamind uses one of the most unique methods of boosting your motivation I’ve seen in nootropic supplements. Instead of only increasing your motivation by raising your serotonin levels — Vyvamind also focuses on fighting fatigue.

Put simply, fatigue is a major demotivator. You don’t feel like doing anything when you’re tired physically, mentally, or both.

To eliminate this fatigue Vyvamind enlists the help of Caffeine, the same substance found in tea, coffee, and many energy drinks. It is an active stimulant that induces thermogenesis and boosts your energy expenditure

This makes you feel more energetic and gives you the motivation to complete your tasks, be it studying, working, or something in between.

One thing I highly appreciate about Vyvamind is that it contains just the right amount of Caffeine per serving at 75 mg. This is enough to increase your mental energy, but not so much that it causes serious side effects like insomnia or jitters.

  • Endorsement from a doctor in its reviews makes it more trustworthy.

Cons

  • Might cause headaches for folks with low Caffeine tolerance.

4. Nooceptin

Nooceptin is also a relatively newer option. But it quickly earned a spot among the best nootropics due to two key factors; its to-the-point formula and honest representation of its benefits.

Nooceptin contains only seven ingredients in its formula and each one of them serves a relevant purpose in the supplement.

L-Theanine, for example, promotes the synthesis of neurotransmitters like dopamine. An increase in the concentration of these neurotransmitters — in turn — makes you feel happier and more motivated.

Similarly, Citicoline protects your brain from long-term oxidative damage caused by free radicals, while Ginkgo Biloba helps you overcome anxiety. All of the remaining ingredients are also in a similar boat, with science-backed benefits that are relevant to nootropics and cognitive health.

Secondly, Nooceptin doesn’t exaggerate the benefits of its ingredients. This might sound like a minuscule detail at first. But for me, it’s an indicator of quality and helps build trust in the brand, especially one as new as Nooceptin.

5. Mind Lab Pro

There is a lot to talk about when it comes to Mind Lab Pro. But, the aspect that I’d like to mention first is its excellent formulation.

While Mind Lab Pro does have a relatively large number of ingredients, almost all of them offer some cognition-related benefits.

N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine, for example, is a more effective version of standard L-Tyrosine. Its intake boosts the levels of adrenaline in your system, which — in turn — makes you feel more motivated. Similarly, its most abundant ingredient, Lion's Mane Mushroom, has neuroregenerative abilities that promote the health of your neurons.

The effectiveness of these ingredients is also evident from this supplement’s review section. On its official website, Mind Lab Pro has overwhelmingly positive feedback with a 4.38/5 stars rating from 2,300+ customers. Reviewers are praising its effectiveness in improving their mood and energy, both of which can lead to higher motivation.

What’s more and probably the most compelling review is the one from Dr. Ramon Velazquez, a Ph.D. Neuroscientist at Arizona State University. He labels Mind Lab Pro’s ingredients as “research-backed” which is a fairly accurate description from what I’ve seen.

Final Words

With the fast-paced world of the 21st century, it’s becoming increasingly harder to find the motivation you need to keep going. While there are a lot of emotional, environmental, and situational factors that play into it, motivation comes from your brain.

This makes nootropics a fairly effective method of boosting your motivation, and the five I’ve listed are some of the most effective options on the market. Any one of them can help you get motivated and sprint past mental hurdles.
