There are a few ways to research a supplement–look at reviews, talk to first-hand users, check out the company website. I prefer to look at scientific studies. For instance, TestoPrime uses a healthy amount of proven D-Aspartic acid. Because the evidence is so strong that D-Asp improves T-Levels, we can be reasonably sure that TestoPrime works, as well.
And then we come to products like Aphro-D. Their formula only has 4 ingredients–leaving out many, many proven compounds that could improve their performance, and yours. And three of their four ingredients aren’t in any proven T-Boosters. Which means, from the jump, Aphro-D is behind the scientific curve. Not a good sign.
Aphro-D
Overall Rating: 1/5
What is Aphro-D?
Aphro-D is a small company based in the UK, whose only product at the moment is their T-Booster. They don’t seem overly concerned with scientific data. I’ve been doing this a long time, and I can tell quite a bit about a company from their website. And the fact that they don’t even have a picture of their ingredient label is telling. And they have no links to any information whatsoever on their limited ingredient information–they’re not interested, it seems, in highlighting any scientific data on their product. Which already tells me there probably isn’t any data that can back them up.
Pros & Cons
There are a few things to like about Aphro-D, if you’re inclined to these selling points. I strive for honesty and fairness, and so here are the highlights, such as they are.

Best Alternatives
If you’d like to get off the Aphro-D train, now, I don’t blame you. Here’s some other vehicles to get you to your best T-Production.
TestoPrime
Overall Rating: 5/5
The absolute best-performing T-Booster on the market is TestoPrime. Our readers and editors have consistently rated it best-in-class, and for good reason. The formula speaks for itself, but here are some highlights.
Testo-Max
Overall Rating: 4.7/5
Let’s all be honest: many men want or need more Testosterone for the gym. If that’s you, and you don’t need to mess around with any other benefits of higher T, then I always point folks in that camp to Testo-Max from CrazyBulk.
Prime Male
Overall Rating: 4.5/5
Prime Male always makes my top recommendations because its focus is on rebalancing your body’s natural hormone cycles. You don’t have to worry about crazy high T, but instead will see a rapid decline in estrogen and a gradual swelling of male hormone levels.
Claims of Aphro-D
Aphro-D uses a lot of heady language on their website, but I don’t see any real material claims. The makers of quality supplements will often confidently proclaim, as with D-Asp, that it can skyrocket your Total T by triple digit percentage points in weeks.
Aphro-D (perhaps wisely in their case) steers clear of these claims. That’s very largely due to the fact that they have only one ingredient of even dubious quality.
Ingredients
Enough talk. Let’s get to the data, such that there is for Aphro-D. Remember, if none of these are ringing your bell, don’t fret. Just jump over to one of the alternatives.
Tongkat ali
Tongkat Ali is perhaps one of the oldest medicinal herbs for male vitality. In all my research, though, I’ve always been left with an unresolved issue: while Tongkat is highly effective, it’s also banned in many places, and the best T-Booster don’t use it. So take its inclusion here with a large grain of salt. Oh, and like all the ingredients here, we have no idea how much is in Aphro-D. It could be not enough, or so much it’s toxic.
Schisandra berry
Never heard of it? Don’t blame yourself. You won’t find it on any other label. And that’s typically not a good thing. There is some very limited evidence that this berry (or its preparation) can mitigate the effects of varicose vein damage to testicles. In rats. So unless you happen to be a very injured rat, this may not be of much use to you.
He shou wou
A traditional herb from Chinese medicine, I hadn’t studied up on it in years, partly because it’s associated with liver damage. What studies have been conducted have been on animals, because of safety risks, but they did show some improvement in Testosterone production.
Pearl powder
Another mystery ingredient that’s more smoke than fire. I found an exhaustive review of all the applications for Pearl Powder in medicine and biology. Nowhere is Testosterone mentioned. Not once.
Should You Try Aphro-D
The bottom line on Aphro-D is that the risks, for me, simply can’t be ignored. I can’t in good conscience recommend a product with zero transparency on ingredient doses, and that has two ingredients that don’t do anything. Let alone the fact that the two ingredients that do work might be toxic.
Final Verdict
In the end, I would simply check out one of the better trusted products that we already know works. Life is short, and there’s nothing more important than our health. There’s absolutely no point risking liver damage for possibly higher T, when you can get far better results with no side effects from something else like TestoPrime.
